We had had enough. It was time to get that mutt out of boarding school, so we did. Apparently, our undercover operation was totally scheduled because they expected us to show up. After a 20 minute intro where phrases like, “your dog is dominant” (duh, he’s a corgi), and “he’s a feisty little guy were said, we were prepared for Perce to show up.
It has been rather quiet in our household recently for two reasons: 1) We miss our puppy & 2) Percy has gone to jail boarding/training school. We have two great sets of friends who have said that this specific dog training school is outstanding! We haven’t only taken their word for it, but we have also seen the dramatic difference in their dogs; so the wife and I opted to put Percy up for training and boarding.
So, I haven’t updated the blog because the wife and I have been frantically doing things we haven’t been able to for the last two months. I had a birthday; we’re going to try and visit some friends out of town, or at least not be at home all day a few days… It should be great. When dropping off Percy at the boarding place, I asked if we had any “visitation rights”. The lady simply chuckled and told me they discourage that. I understand. I know it’s right for the dog.
But it’s hard.
The real reason why I haven’t posted something new yet on here? I’m sad. I don’t want to think about Percy because every day at least once or twice I receive (or send) a text from (to) my wife about missing our dog. Is it important? Yes! Will it be awesome for the next 12+ years of our life with this handsome dog? Yes! Are we selfish punks who just want to hold onto our dog? Yes!
Today marks the 9th day. Not including today, we pick him up in six days. We are trying desperately to jampack in stuff over these next six days so we don’t have to think about how much Percy has grown, the coloring that has changed over the last two weeks, if he even still likes us…
We’re pathetic! I’ve also been living vicariously through all the lovely corgi blogs out there…
